first gig1964 - 65

The Strokers, the Quincy Street Rock Orchestra, funny hats and pants, Jeremy Stidwell (my very first pseudonym) and a lot of thinking about girls.

The electro-acoustic Harmony in this picture was my very first --- not girl --- guitar. I'm pretty sure it was a Harmony, but then again, it may have been a Silvertone.

Had a tiny little amp with a 12" speaker and less wattage than it takes for the average vibrator. The guitar and amp cost my life savings plus a bunch of weekly payments in February of 1964. You know, right after those British guys were on the Ed Sullivan show. In case you didn't notice, I don't think that's a real guitar chord... close to a G but not exactly. I think it had something to do with being fourteen and extending my middle finger whenever I got a chance.

Mary Jane's Tidbits

The biggest loss when the stereo, albums, and other stuff got ripped off from the Mary Jane Bann'd house on Goss (or was it Grove) Street was an original copy of the Beatles' Yesterday and Today with the infamous butcher cover. It's out there somewhere with the name Duck written on it in blue Magic Marker.
